Setting the Bar High - We Aim to Impress from Your Very First Visit
Your first visit with us may be very different from previous experiences you’ve had at a dental office. In most cases you can expect the visit to be approximately 2 hours long. We know that sounds lengthy, but it provides us with the necessary time to get to know you, get to know your concerns or goals for your oral health, obtain sufficient records of your teeth and surrounding structures and take time to design a custom treatment plan that you are on board with.

Patient Forms
Not very many of us get excited about filling out paperwork! Not to mention, if you are already nervous about coming to a new office or the dentist office in general, it can be stressful completing medical history forms in the waiting area. Once you have made an appointment, we will email them to you so you can complete them from the comfort of your own home. If you have any problems completing these, please contact us and our team will be pleased to assist you. We want this very important step of the new patient process to be as stress-free as possible.

Dental Insurance
At Bay Area Family Dentistry, we are pleased to help file insurance claims for most major dental plans, helping to maximize and expedite your reimbursement. We also provide complimentary insurance verification! We understand that dental care can be costly and will do our best to help you save wherever possible! In addition to insurance, we accept cash, checks, and major credit cards. Call us today to discuss your options!
Financing Options
Do you not have dental insurance? Maybe your plan does not cover what you may need? For those that are uninsured or have more complex treatment needs, we partner with CareCredit Financing. If eligible, you can sign up for a little-to-no interest plan that is right for you, allowing you to make monthly installments to stay within your budget. Ask our team today for more information.

FAQs

Unfortunately, the number of times you should visit the dentist is not a one-size-fits-all situation. While many people should visit the dentist one to two times per year for regular dental health cleanings and check-ups, others may require a shorter frequency between visits. It is important to visit your dentist regularly because dental problems may not always present themselves with symptoms. It is best to diagnose and address dental problems when they are minor problems to avoid unnecessary dental pain.

Absolutely! Dr. Williams has two young children of her own and believes in the importance of developing good oral hygiene habits from an early age. We offer "Happy Visits" to children as young as 3 years old to take a look at their mouth and introduce them to the dental office setting as comfortably as we can to initiate a positive experience for them when it comes to dental visits.

Dental anxiety has always been a concern for the dental industry. Dental fear affects nearly 40% of the population and has seemingly become more prevalent following the pandemic. Dr. Williams and her team strive to ease your anxiety during your visit. She and her team are compassionate, warm and dedicated to improving your experience.
In addition to setting the tone with an inviting and kind atmosphere, Dr. Williams offers a number of anxiety-reducing options including distraction with TV or noise-cancelling headphones, Nitrous Oxide to help with relaxation and some sedation options as well.

Yes, we do! Dental emergencies are common and certainly don't seem to happen at convenient times. Dr. Williams does her best to see you for a same-day appointment to ensure you are well on your way to feeling better as soon as possible.

Of course you can! We wish for everyone to have access to high quality dental care, so we welcome everyone - insured or uninsured!
We are primarily an out-of-network office which allows us to charge fair, fixed rates for procedures rather than having to apply extra fees required by third party insurance companies. If you don't have dental insurance, please ask us about our in-house membership plans.
While we may be out-of-network for most dental insurances, we will still take care of all the dental claims processing for you if you do happen to have dental insurance.
